Every piece of Sarah Cason Designs artwork is done by hand. AKA, you get the original artwork! Yes, there are indeed fantastic digital calligraphy tools out there right now, and many wonderful, beautiful prints of artwork. But there has always been something that pulls me to original artwork, and it's what I have a personal passion for serving up to you.
As an artist and calligrapher, I love designing, drawing and writing with my own hand, pen and ink firmly grasped in between my fingers. I've played around with the idea of doing digital work, but I just can't give up my love for pen and paper. Call me old fashioned, but I absolutely love it. And I love getting to create very special pieces just for you!
Here is how my process breaks down specifically for different kinds of orders:
For Custom Pieces:
Here are Sarah Cason Designs, I take great pride in my work, and producing high quality pieces that will exceed your expectations and be a lasting heirloom piece for you and your family. Whether it is a custom calligraphy map, a wedding program, a simple and beloved quote or verse, or a saying to hang in your room, I want you to have the perfect piece.
Feel free to use the message button to send me an email if you have questions about if I can do a piece, or if you have a specific idea in mind. From there, I can create a custom link for you to order your piece through. As we work out the details, I keep you informed and in the loop every step of the way. Every custom piece comes with a drafting process, and I will email you pictures to approval to make sure we have your vision exactly in mind and on paper.
Processing times vary depending on the detail of the project, but on average from the time of order to shipping time, custom work takes about two weeks (plus shipping time).
Non Custom Designs:
All non custom designs are done by hand to ensure you get the highest quality piece of original calligraphy artwork. While I strive to make each exactly as pictured, there may be slight differences from the listing pictured. Your original calligraphy piece will be made and ready to ship within three to five business days.
I hold in person classes here in the Atlanta area about twice per month. We are located on the north east side of town in Tucker, and the classes are generally held in our home (sometimes it may be at an art studio or other location), and you will receive the address after purchasing your spot (but if you have specific questions you can always ask!). Classes are two or three hours long (the time is specified in each listing), with all materials and instructions provided. You get to use them in class, and take them home to continue your learning and develop your own calligraphy skills!
In person class spots are a first come, first serve basis, and there is limited seating. Please note that due to the nature of the event, preparation and purchase of class supplies, and the limited number of seats available per class, all sales are considered final after 24 hours of purchase, and there are no redunds. If you are unable to attend the scheduled event, please contact me as soon as possible prior to the class. You may transfer your class ticket ONCE to a future class (as long as I am notified one week prior to the purchased class date). Within one week of the class, you are allowed to transfer your ticket to a friend (but please notify me so I have the correct materials/names at hand). Please contact me if you have any questions, too!
As I have taught in person classes here in the Atlanta area over the past year, I have developed my own curriculum and found out what tools work best as you begin your calligraphy journey! Your kit will be prepared especially for you, and shipped within three business days of purchase. Once you receive your kit, you can of course reach out to me if you have any questions at all! Due to the nature of kits, refunds are not accepted, but if there is an issue with the supplies, please let me know.
